Top Story of 2011

aptera tombstone

To send off 2011, I thought I would go back and look at the website’s logs for the past year and see what was the most popular story here in 2011.  By far, it was Aptera’s closing up shop and the whole lead-up to that.

The top story by readership count was Aptera Vaguely Announces 2.0, which was the company’s attempt at a come back as they were going to introduce their new, more mainstream four-door sedan.  Surrounding that were stories of Aptera’s internal strife and finally the startup carmaker’s collapse.

So that wraps up 2011 as the top stories.

As for 2012?  Big changes are coming.  You’ve already noticed, I’m sure, the design change the site has undergone.  Behind that is a fundamental change.  Basically, I’m putting the “meme” into the EVmeme title.  So far, the site has mostly been an intermittent blog wherein I’ve talked about (and poked fun at) the electric vehicle industry.

The “meme” was always meant to be a part of that, but got derailed for time constraints and lack of resources.  Now those things are (mostly) passed and I have the technology.  So I’m going to add feeds from other EV-centric websites as well as select stories that didn’t make those feeds.  This will bring you headlines and information from other websites about electric vehicles.

I’ll have more details coming soon and will update the EVmeme section you see above when it happens in the next week or two.  If you have an EV-centric website and would like to be included in the meme, watch for information coming as to how you can do that.  Or use the contact page above to send a query and I’ll get back to you as soon as I have the details ironed out with the RSS system that will be doing this.

Happy New Year!
