New Brammo Biooootch!

Brammo has introduced another electric motorcycle, this one is (actually) freeway capable and has a much more street-capable racing look.  It’s not exactly a chopper or a crotch rocket, but it looks and performs better than the Enertia for sure.

The new Empulse comes in three models, each designated by a number which stands for its expected range.  The 6.0 has a 60 mile range, the 8.0 an 80 mile range, and the 10.0 a 100 mile range.  The biggest difference between the Enertia and the Empulse?  I mean besides Brammo’s obvious love of replacing Is with Es, that is…

The biggest difference is speed and size.  The Enertia is a commuter bike, with a top speed of 60mph and unique, but somewhat dork-inspired looks.  It forces the rider to sit in a full upright position as if on a bicycle, which is good for a commuter who needs to keep their eyes open and be aware of the idiots around them.

The Empulse is made to fly past those idiots and the rider need only see what’s coming ahead.

It’s top speed is around 100mph and its larger frame is more robust and full-sized.  The race inspiration from Brammo’s participation in the TTR last year is obvious.  Like the Enertia, the Empulse will be available at Best Buy stores nationally starting in 2011.  Prices will begin at around $10k for the 6.0 (before incentives).  In some states, the price tag for the 10.0 could be as low as $7,000.

Awesome.
