Apparently whenever I publicly announce that I really like a car, it spells instant doom for the vehicle. First, I said that my favorite electric car is the Aptera 2e. Then it was shown that the car basically sucks. Offhandedly, I’ve mentioned liking the Fisker Karma (which is well outside of my price range).
Well, now it turns out Fisker is having some issues with getting the Karma to production. There’s been yet another delay. I first saw this on Gas2.0 and wondered about it. But it didn’t occur to me that this was anything serious until I saw the marketing ploy on Fisker’s website, as pointed out by Auto Blog Green.
Oi.
Does it get any cheesier?
I mean, couldn’t they just put out a press release, maybe make a graphic showcasing something big was coming, and then do the Apple and just let little details slip to key members of the press (you know, like me)? Did they have to go all 1999 and make their website into a giant count down?
Well, whatever the countdown is for, I’ll find out in about 23 minutes.
Update: the ticker has been down to 00:00 for 45 minutes now and, true to form, Fisker is late changing the site. So much for their marketing hype.
