Aaron Turpen This is too friggin funny. Of course, it should be noted that the VW (called the Black Current III) has 2 electric motors under the floorboards and a 0-60 time of about 3 seconds while the Roadster is a street car with a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds.
Still, it’s humiliating for the Roadster, since that “supercar” has also lost to the stupid-looking Tango EV (a favorite in the Automotive X Prize). To Tesla’s credit, however, the car has beaten several gasoline sports cars including the Porsche 911, a Maserati, and others.
Anyway, here’s video of the Black Current III spanking the Roadster.
